To keep your POS devices and payment terminals running smoothly, you need a stable internet connection. You can use Wi-Fi or Ethernet, but we highly recommend using Ethernet (a wired connection) — it’s much more reliable and helps avoid connection issues when taking payments.
If You’re Using Ethernet (Wired Internet)
Make sure your setup includes:
A Megabit Ethernet connection or better
The right Ethernet cables (Category 5 or higher)
This gives you the most stable setup for both your POS and payment terminals.
If You’re Using Wi-Fi
Make sure your Wi-Fi network supports the following:
Wi-Fi 5 or higher (802.11ac)
WPA/WPA2 encryption for security
Works on 2.4GHz or 5GHz (5GHz is preferable)
Note: Even if your device says it’s connected to Wi-Fi or Ethernet, that doesn’t always mean it has internet access. There could still be issues between your network and the actual internet.
