Scales are only integrateble to Android based devices
The cable is a USB-B to USB-A cable. This model is powered directly from the POS device. The USB-A should be connected to the POS device (Elo or Android tablet), and the USB-B should be connected to the scale as shown below:
This is how the cable looks on a CAS PDN. It also shows how to connect it.
2. Check that the scale has the correct configuration
This scale can be configured in 2 ways. Follow the instructions below to set the scale correctly:
2.1 How to set the scale to FLT 14 configuration
Turn off the scale using the power button on the side where the cable is connected
Turn the scale back on while holding the T button
Release the T button after the scale has powered on
The configuration should show “FLT 14”
Change the numbers by pressing the star button*
Set the first row of numbers to 1
Press the T button to move to the second row and do the same
Finish by pressing the 0 button
2.2 How to set the scale to ECR Type 3 configuration
Turn off the scale using the power button on the side where the cable is connected
Turn the scale back on while holding the 0 button
Release the 0 button after the scale has powered on
The screen will now display this. Press the 0 button
Select Type 3 by pressing the T button
Proceed by pressing the 0 button
The next step is to choose r ECR. Press the T button until the display shows this
Confirm the setting by pressing the 0 button twice
The display will show “11111111” and up to “9999999,” after which it will display “0.000”
The scale is now correctly configured ✅
3. Connect the scale to Kanpla POS
The scale needs to be connected in the Device Settings of the Kanpla POS app.
Open the Kanpla POS app
Go to Device Settings
Go to Weight/Scale
If a scale is already connected, ask the customer to press “Remove device”
Press “Select scale”
A long list of different options may appear (depending on the customer)
Select the device that contains “XXX-FDTI-XXXX”
Select “CAS PDN”
Ask the customer to go to Sales and select a weighted product. Verify that the scale responds correctly!
