In Kanpla, a product is what your customers can order — for example, a meal, a drink, a snack, or a meal deal. Products must be added under the correct module (e.g., Hospitality) and assigned to a calendar, which defines when and where the product is available. This ensures that customers only see the right products at the right time and place.
This guide is a step-by-step walkthrough showing you how to create a product and add it to the correct module.
Step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Click on “Mealplan” in the left-hand menu of the admin panel
Step 2: Select your salesplace and the specific module
If you manage multiple salesplaces, start by selecting the correct one, and then choose the module the product should be added to.
Step 3: Click on “+ Add product” in the bottom right corner
Step 4: Click on “New product” in the top left corner
Step 5: Fill in the product details:
Name: e.g., “Lasagna”
Description (optional): Add information about allergens, dietary labels, or other relevant notes
Price: Set the base price of the product
Category: Select an existing category or create a new one to organize your menu
Step 6: Upload a product image
Click “Choose file” to upload an image for your product
Upload your own image or use Unsplash to find a suitable one
Step 7: Click “Save and add” to add your product to the module
Step 8: A pop-up menu will appear - now select the availability of your product
Step 9: Choose when the product should be available
You can choose between:
A single day
A specific period
Permanently
Note: If the product is not set to be permanently available, you must assign the specific day or period in the calendar.
Step 10: Scroll to the bottom of the pop-up menu and click “OK”
Step 11: Return to the main Mealplan (Shop) overview and check that your product appears in the list
Step 12: Click “Save” in the top right corner to save your product
Once your product is added to the correct module and given the right calendar availability, it will show up for your customers exactly when and where it should.
